Our Mission

Key Learning Solutions is an organization with a mission to use inovative Internet solutions to help strengthen the material  and human resources of schools in West Africa.

 

Our Team

Dr. Modupe Irele, founder of Key Learning Solutions, brings 18 years experience in education and 15 years in business management to the organization. Dr. Irele has a BA and MA in French from the University of Ibadan and an MA in Educational Administration and a D. Ed in Adult Education (concentration in distance education), from the Pennsylvania State University. Until she left to work full-time with Key Learning Solutions, Dr. Irele worked at Penn State's World Campus as a Program Manager and Co-coordinator of Evaluation. She was also an affiliate Assistant Professor in the Adult Education Program.

Ms. Moradeyo Olorunnisola brings over 15 years of admissions experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels to the organization. She has extensive experience in the counseling of international students wishing to study in the U.S. as well as in reviewing academic credentials from countries around the world. Originally from Nigeria, Ms. Olorunnisola has a B.A. in Political Science and an M. Ed in Counselor Education with emphasis in Student Development. She currently resides in Pennsylvania, USA.

Dr. Melody Thompson has extensive expereince as an educator, having taught at all levels from K-12 through graduate school. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Education at Penn State University, where her teaching and research focus on online education. Dr. Thompson is the US coordinator for e-learning research collaboration for the Worldwide Universities Network and has served as the Director of the American Center for the Study of Distance Education. She has published numerous articles and book chapters on online education practice, policy and evaluation. Dr. Thompson received her BA degree in English from Bryn Mawr College and her M. Ed and D. Ed degrees in Edcuation from Penn State.

Dr. Iyunolu Osagie (Ph. D. Cornell University) is Associate Professor of English at The Pennsylvania State University, where she teaches African and African American literary theories and Third World women's literatures. Her research focuses on Black diasporic/transnational studies, especially African and African American cultural memories, Third World women's intellectual response to Western feminisms, democracy in South African and Nigeria and the revitalization of the Amistad revolt. Her book, The Amistad Revolt: Memory, Slavery and the Politics of Identity in the United States and Sierra Leone (Athens University of Georgira Press, 2000), highlights the historical Amistad as contemporary cultural memory. She is a member of the University senate and is active in both departmental and college committees.

Janet May earned her MS in Mathematics from the University of Maryland in 1978. She worked as a Mathematician at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center from 1978 to 1980. She has more than 20 years of experience in teaching mathematics including 14 years of teaching mathematics at Penn State University's DuBois Campus. She also has taught college algebra to distance education students since 1988, reaching thousands of students around the world. She currently holds the position of Associate Director for Evaluation and Senior Program Manager within Penn State University's World Campus.
